Weapon of Mass Creation…
Growing up in the St. Louis, Missouri area, Cody was writing fictional stories before most kids had finished chapter books. By the time he was 12, he and his cousin were shooting homemade fan films — low-budget, high-ambition tributes to Robocop and Terminator that set the template for everything that followed: big ideas, real execution, no waiting for permission.
Music entered the picture seriously at 16, when Cody won a local talent contest and discovered that performing wasn't just something he enjoyed, it was something he was built for. By 17, he was fronting Between the Rain, a cover band playing live sets in local biker bars, earning his chops in the kind of rooms that don't forgive a bad performance.
In the years since, Cody has written, produced, and released over 700 songs across more than 50 albums — a catalog of extraordinary depth and range available on Bandcamp. Today he leads Cody and The Chameleons, a rockabilly and blues-driven rock and roll band that has become a fixture on the cigar box guitar festival circuit, performing at events across Missouri, Alabama, Georgia, and Michigan. Joined by bassist Russ Wellington, harmonica and slide guitarist Mark LeClaire, drummer Gailand Bay, and saxophonist Dom Knott — and sponsored by MGB Guitar Parts out of Florida — the Chameleons bring an unmistakable sound and an unforgettable live show built around handcrafted instruments and deep roots in American music.
Cody ultimately wants to help others bring their visions to life while working in collaborative artistic spaces together.
